After stints with publications such as the Oakland Tribune, San Francisco Examiner, and the defunct San Francisco Progress, Pedro covered the Arts and Sports and penned a number of Police/Crime articles; some of his work has appeared in Essence Magazine. The Garden Rebel

The Garden Rebel, with host Vince Sims, is a two-hour LIVE caller driven gardening and landscape show each Sunday morning. The Garden Rebel combines his vast knowledge with a genuine personality that listeners enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you’re in Seattle or Sarasota; The Garden Rebel has the answer to America’s gardening and landscape questions and dilemmas.

Understanding that the same solution cannot solve every problem, The Garden Rebel offers natural, environmentally safe solutions to the most common problems. Vince is a radio personality and expert -not an expert trying to be a radio personality.
Vince is a native Floridian who discovered his life's passion early on. He was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, and confesses that he started his gardening career by growing plants in soup cans.

All of his free time was spent working with plants, going to club lectures and speaking at various organizations to tell "the world" about his successes and discoveries of rare blue-ribbon exotic specimens. Hence, "The Garden Rebel" was born.

When Vince moved to Central Florida, he started his own landscaping business and he has loved every minute of it! "The Garden Rebel's" philosophy is simple when it comes to landscape design, "it absolutely must be low maintenance, cold tolerant, and it still must look great years after it has been growing."

Talk Radio Countdown

Talk is hot! Talk is also widely diverse. Getting a handle on what’s on the minds of other listeners around the country is a tough job. The results have proven fascinating to your listeners. Every week The Talk Radio Countdown Show surveys a wide variety of people in and outside the industry to determine for your listeners what’s uppermost in the minds of people like them.

Open phones, intriguing guests and regular contributors make The Talk Radio Countdown Show fast moving, entertaining and informative. It’s done in cooperation with Michael Harrison of Talkers Magazine, the bible of talk radio.

Unlike music countdown shows that just play the music and add a position to it, The Talk Radio Countdown Show often brings in the people who made the issues important or popular. That’s an important point--popular! We deal with all the issues that make life interesting each week.

Silly is just as relevant as serious. If the top topics are about dumb stuff, we’ll report it. If it’s about politics (hard to separate the dumb stuff from that) we’ll report that, too. When it’s very serious, like the World Trade Center attack, we’ll treat it with the depth, sensitivity and respect it deserves.

Are We Alone?

Are We Alone? - a caller-driven talk show that asks listeners their thoughts on the possibility of life beyond earth. Listeners can share their opinions and ask questions of real science experts.

Are We Alone? is produced by the non-profit SETI Institute, a science-based organization whose mission is to explore, understand and explain the origin, nature, prevalence and distribution of life in the universe.

Unlike other programs that deal with the subject of extraterrestrial life, "Are We Alone?" emphasizes (1) space exploration that hunts for signs of life on Mars and other worlds, (2) the SETI search for signals from intelligent beings, and (3) astronomical research of the kind that is finding myriads of planets scattered through the vast spaces of our galaxy.

" Are We Alone?" draws on scientists from the SETI Institute as well as experts from NASA, academia, major observatories, and elsewhere. The Institute is home to many eminent researchers, including Jill Tarter, who leads a team developing a sophisticated new radio telescope, the Allen Telescope Array, that will greatly speed the scrutiny of star systems for signs of intelligence.

Another Institute scientist, Chris Chyba, heads up a group that investigates such exciting puzzles as the possibility for life on Mars and Europa, and the origin of biology on our own planet. Chyba recently received a prestigious MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.
